===============================================================
11/30/2018 - Items 1, 2, 3 and 4 in this section and item 6 from the section above (Accident Statement for Insurance Companies) were sent to CA Department of Insurance via priority mail to initiate a complaint
12/10/2018 - CA Department of Insurance acknowledges complaint -- view
12/14/2018 - AAA issued a written response to our complaint glossing over the most relevant parts -- view

12/18/2018 - AAA issued a written response to our complaint detailing claims filed by others and those denials -- not relevant since no disagreement on dates policy did or did not exist -- view
12/24/2018 - We responded to AAA's 12/14/2018 response. We clarify the complaint mis-characterization and resort to a "circle the right answer" for legal association of AAA documents to CA statutes...  -- view

12/252018 - 1/16/209 - Cat had AAA's tongue.

1/17/2019 - AAA responded with 1.25 pages of inverted prose that required inference that could lead to incorrect understanding.  view
1/30/2019 - We responded asking Tricia for clear answers that don't require inverted prose reading skills and inference. We detail the path AAA has taken into the Statute Rabbit Hole. We detail what industry standards are . We provide simple and clear suggestions for Statute changes to close this black hole. We ask a lot more relevant questions.  -- view
AAA Post Accident Documentation Follies
The sloppy and illogical set of  post accident documents from AAA to Ric are unnerving. The lack of attention to proper details are startling.  This level of ineptitude for such an important consumer service is surely is not needed in our current insurance industry?

  1. 2018/10/25 - Denial of Claim Notice -- Policy Number CAAS209872679 -- view

The day after the accident AAA generated a denial of responsibility document on Ric's new Policy Number (the policy created just hours after the accident).

The letter carelessly and un-clearly states "Effective October 24, 2018, AAA issued an insurance policy to Richard Valentine, covering the 2012 Subaru Outback. A review of your policy indicates that this policy number CAA209872679 {not his policy number in 2018 and prior} was cancelled on October 04, 2018 10:00AM {should say 2017, not 2018}  and was reinstated on 10/24/2019 {should say 2018}.

The letter goes on to un-clearly state "According to our records, a claim was filed on 10/24/2019 {should say 2018} for a loss that occurred on 10/24/2018.  This loss occurred while your policy was not in force and prior to reinstatement. Therefore we will be unable to extend any and all coverage's for this loss since there was no insurance coverage under your policy on the date of the loss. "

  2. 2018/11/07 - "Thanks for Choosing AAA and Trusting Us with your Needs" -- Policy # CAAS100250678 -- view

"We are writing to confirm a claim has been opened on your policy" --- WHAT POLICY?  He had no policy...AAA letter on 10/25/2018 makes that clear?

"At AAA, we strive to make your claims experience easy and smooth as possible. We'll work with you throughout the process, provide fast, caring service and resolve your claim fairly."  - - great. EXCEPT RIC HAD NO POLICY BECAUSE HE WAS DROPPED FOR FAILURE TO PAY WITHOUT ANY NOTICE...

"We still need to determine whether one or more overages apply..."  -- WHAT PLANET ARE THESE PEOPLE FROM?

  3. 2018/11/29 -- Confusing and illogical Voicemail from April Ricafort --  listen

  4. 2018/11/30 - "Notice of Investigation" #1 -- view

"Dear [Ric], I am investigating this recent claim submitted pursuant to  your policy, underwritten by the CSAA Insurance Exchange, and I need to speak with you to gather additional information".... -- WHAT POLICY?  He had no policy...AAA letter on 10/25/2018 makes that clear? -- Signed, April Ricafort

  5. 2018/12/07 - "Notice of Investigation" #2 -- view

"Dear [Ric], I have been unsuccessful in my attempts to contact you either by telephone or written communication.  In order for me to investigate this loss I need to speak with  you.  -- You have a duty to cooperate with us in the investigation of this claim. Please refer to OTHER DUTIES section of your policy.... -- WHAT POLICY?  He had no policy...AAA letter on 10/25/2018 makes that clear?  -- Signed, April Ricafort

Bryan reached out to April. He asked why she was sending notices, calling and investigating an accident during a time when it was clearly shown and acknowledge by AAA that Ric had no AAA coverage.  One illogical response followed another and then she rudly and abruptly hung up the phone claiming Bryan was not a proper agent for Ric.  When she picked up the phone on an immediate call back, she started screaming that she would not and could not talk to Bryan until Ric spoke up and indicated he too was present, at which point she became unsettled and lost her  "confidence".   She still could not clearly articulate why she was calling to investigate an event that transpired outside of a covered period of time.  She finally said she just needed to confirm he didn't have insurance during the accident(?)  Why is she calling to ask him that? She works for the insurance carrier.   It was all soooo illogical.
