Insurance Information
Insurance related information only applies to Acupuncture Services. The other services are not covered by any Insurance Companies at this time.
- Private Insurance - I was once in network with more than 20 insurance companies. I'm no longer in network with any companies. I can provide you with a "Super Bill" which is a recognized receipt for services that you can use to try to gain credit or reimbursement for services. On the "Forms > Office Forms" page, see form 3 for a written script you can use to call your Insurance Company to obtain information about possible reimbursement amounts with a Super Bill.
- Medicare and Tricare - Medicare and Tricare previously did not offer acupuncture reimbursement. It seems Medicare may now be offering up to 20 treatments annual for low back pain with specific circumstances and absent of others. Unfortunately it appears, that service has to be provided under the care of an MD as an alterative to opioids. They are not honoring Acupuncturists as Physicians as is the case with Private Insurance and Worker's Compensation at this time.
- Workman's Compensation - I will work with about half of the Workman's Compensation companies that I've had prior experience with. Please see my "Services > Worker's Compensation" Page for more information on who I will consider working with at this time.
Acupuncture Practice
I use a type of acupuncture that only requires access to your arms (from elbows to fingertips), legs (knees to toes) and head . I can treat all aspects of your entire body with this limited access to your body. My office has recliners as opposed to massage tables and that is my preferred treatment style.
I practice a type of "Distal Point Acupuncture" known as "The Balance Method" developed by Richard Tan O.M.D. Distal Point Acupuncture is over 2,500 years old and draws its influences from Classic Chinese concepts including the "I Ching", one of the oldest books in the world, the "Ba Qua" or "Eight Directions", and the polarity known as "Yin and Yang". With the Balance Method, the acupuncture points used are predominantly located from the elbows to the fingers, and from the knees to the toes. I do also use some points on the head, ears, and elsewhere. Consequently, the patient does not have to take off any clothes to enjoy the healing process. The treatments are efficient and generally comfortable, and my patients indicate these treatments are extremely effective. Pain relief is typically realized to some degree within minutes and long lasting relief over a series of treatments is at least 80%.

Nutrition and General Wellness Diagnostics - Applied Kinesiology / Muscle Testing
I frequently utilize a technique called Applied Kinesiology (also referred to as "AK") during my diagnostic processes. AK has been evolving since developed by Dr. George Goodheart in 1955. Using certain sequences and certain reference points, muscle groups will either respond strongly or weakly depending on a presented or pondered situation. With muscle testing, the energy of beneficial nutrition or system stressors such as Heavy Metals may be identified and addressed. Like any testing (allopathic, natural, scientific) AK responses are always subject to error and/or misinterpretation, BUT it is surprising at how often it can help identify the contributing factors that affect health. AK relies on principals that are similar as those that trigger elevated galvanic skin responses measured by polygraph machines.
AK is an art form. It takes time to learn how to use it, it takes time to know when it can be used, and it takes time to know when it is likely to provide false responses. If you are not familiar with Muscle Testing/AK, you owe it to yourself to experience AK with a skilled practitioner so you can discover the benefits for yourself.

Conditions Treated
I have received referrals from a wide variety of Western Doctors as well as other Alternative Wellness Professionals and I will gladly refer out patients to Western Doctors and other Alternative Wellness Professionals if I believe they have better tools to meet a patients needs. Acupuncturists in general are a great place to start with most non-emergency room type conditions. The list of conditions below represent the types of conditions that patients have presented with in my office. If your symptoms or conditions are NOT on this list it does not mean I haven't seen them before or treated them, so please call or email to ask about anything not on this list.
