Forms > Clinical Nutrition - Visits 1 through 4 - Expectations Form

Thank you for showing an interest in my clinical nutrition practice.

I use various modalities to assist patients with wellness: Acupuncture, Clinical Nutrition, Herbs and Homeopathic Remedies.   My Clinical Nutrition  Practice focuses on food based nutrition but in fact herbs and homeopathic remedies may also be prescribed.

Clinical Nutrition has been evolving for thousands of years.  Hippocrates said, "Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food".   Our modern concept of Clinical Nutrition dates back to the 1920s and 30s.  When I speak of Clinical Nutrition, I'm primarily referencing nutritional supplements in pill, capsule, tablet or liquid form that are in fact food.  Food that has been condensed (not processed or heated) in a way that the beneficial nutrients of the "food" are contained in a the pill, capsule, tablet or liquid.

When I start out with a patient who is interested in Clinical Nutrition, their interest typically stems from either a lack of results or lackluster results via western medical solutions.

The hardest part about introducing Clinical Nutrition to a new patient is the cognitive part.  We've all been trained to believe pharmaceutical solutions are powerful and food is less so, whenfood can be very powerful when it comes to healing if used properly.  Food almost always has no  side effects, which is a rarity in the Pharmaceutical World.   Unfortunately, regaining an understanding of how we lost our "food as medicine" instructions from Hippocrates takes a little time.

Most Pharmaceuticals are derivations of an organic item (plant or animal).  Active ingredients are identified that are seemingly beneficial for an ailment and  then biochemists reduce those elements and call it medicine.  The synthetic processing serves two purposes: 1) it enables them to patent a unique item, and 2) synthetic solutions are typically lower cost than organic ones.  The most important part about this dialogue at this time is to recognize that  most pharmaceuticals get their start with some type of organic item.  Clinical Nutrition is a  threat to the Pharmaceutical Sales, and there is less money in selling non-patent able organic products, and for both of those reasons, Clinical Nutrition is not as  well known nor well respected as it should be.

There are actually two aspects of Self Care -- Healing and Wellness
Healing is the process of remedying something that is problematic and Wellness is the process of maintaining wellness or  gaining in wellness.

The first cycle for all my clinical nutrition patients is almost always about "Healing" more so than "Wellness", given the definitions above.  There is typically chronic problem to be solved.   Some problems can be addressed in very short order and others can take months or years.

My goal with my new patients is to take them through "one cycle" of treatment, so they can get some experience with clinical nutrition without a huge financial and energetic commitment.  It's much easier to have a conversation about longer term goals after one has some experience with the products and the process.

When patients get to a "wellness  plateau" (meaning they've achieved some level of desired healing as it related to a specific malady), they then use me as a resource as they desire.  Some buy products from me monthly or quarterly and others only visit when they aren't feeling well.  All are encouraged to use some form of daily nutritional support, but ultimately each patient determines their own wellness protocol.

Outside of my First Treatment Cycle, typical nutrition consults are 30 minutes for $35.  If I haven't seen you for a while and/or if  there are new issues to address, I often ask for a 1 hour appointment for $65.

Below is an outline of the First Treatment Cycle for new patients.  Please review this in  detail and if you are ready to come in for a visit, please print this page, sign it and bring it with you so I can add it to your file.   Also please see the office forms page and print the appropriate info there for a new patient as well.

My First Treatment Cycle consists of 4 Appointments

I ask all new patients to commit to a 4 appointment cycle.  I don't require pre-payment for this I just ask for a cognitive commit so you can give the prescribed items and myself the time needed to see some progress.
First Appointment
Your first appointment is 90 minutes.  The visit cost is $135.  The first 15 minutes are spent reviewing your medical history and your current symptoms.  The next 20 minutes are spent educating you on various forms of non invasive diagnostic procedures used including muscle testing with and without the  Morphogenic Field.  The next 30 minutes area spent doing testing and analysis to identify maladies and remedies and to determine dosage required for the remedies.  The next 10 minutes is allocated to questions that may still not be answered,  and the last 15 minutes is spent in the checkout process.   During the check out process I'll retrieve relevant products, we'll review procedures for consumption and use, we'll complete the financial portion of our transaction and we'll schedule your next appointment.
Second Appointment - 1 week later
Your second appointment is 30 minutes. The fee is $35.   We'll spend 20 minutes discussing progress and questions, we'll redose for the prescribed products and we'll sell you any products which need to be refilled.

Third Appointment - 1 week later
Your third appointment is just like the second appointment.

Fourth Appointment -- 1 week later
Your fourth appointment is 60 minutes.  The fee for this appointment is 65.  We'll do an  evaluation of your progress and your experience and  we'll come to terms on the next phase of your healing journey.

Total Investment for your 4 visits
I would estimate nutrition could range from $50 to $150 over the course of your first cycle. Your total investment for appointments will be $270.    As such you should be mentally committed to making a $320-500 commitment to investigate clinical nutrition.

If after your first cycle you find this is a good solution for you, you could expect a one hour visit every 4-6 visits and 30 minutes visits otherwise, at the rates quoted above.   Visits are typically 3-4 weeks apart and they are repeated until a wellness plateau satisfactory to you has been achieved.

If you are ready to get going with the first cycle of clinical nutrition, please print this page, sign it, date it and bring it with you to our first appointment.   Also, please visit our office forms page and print and fill out the forms related to New Patients.

Regards
Ric
